Presentation of the offer of active holidays

Results of the research and protection of cultural and historical heritage of south Velebit
In the area of the municipality and Starigrad Paklenica National Park conducted a 2-year research work on the survey and documentation of cultural and historical heritage. Research has even resulted in 314 sites analyzed in detail showing the continuous population of the Velebit region since prehistoric times.
In the space of 70-odd km2 examined were 189 documented ground-stone tumulus mounds beneath which were placed mighty tombs from the Bronze and Iron Ages, 34 caves, 28 fortified sites from the prehistoric times, five ancient sites including two underwater, six medieval sacred objects, and numerous novovijekovni facilities such as villages, mills, Miriam and the church. Each of the sites was introduced into modern geographic information system, tzv.GIS database and included in the spatial plan of the Municipality Starigrad. In this way enables the protection and valorization of cultural and historical heritage, especially in the context of the development of tourism as an industry based in this area. The project was organized by the Public Institution of National Park Paklenica, Starigrad Municipality and the Tourist board of Starigrad, conducted by Martin Dubolnić Glavan, dipl.arh.prof.pov. in collaboration with the Archaeological Museum in Zadar, Vodice, caving and mountain society Paklenica departments, and under the supervision of the Conservation Department of Zadar. Introductory presentation for the authors of the project gave prof.dr.sc.Miroslav Glavičić with the Department of Archaeology Faculty of Philosophy in Zadar and the presentation of the project was attended by numerous dignitaries and guests from the scientific and tourist areas.

Published program Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival
On the right, held in Zagreb promotion program was launched in Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival, an international music festival of documentary films that will be the first time, held from 08.-14.kolovoza in Stari Grad-Paklenici.Od received a total of 64 films from Croatian, Europe and the U.S. A coach Zoran Pezo has selected 10 films to be displayed in the category of feature films and 10 in the category of short music documentaries. Some of them will undergo a Croat or a movie premiere, and the midnight premiere out of competition will be showing another 5 films. Bugfixing bed in World Environment Day
Touristic offer of Starigrad this year is richer for one more new content. In the area Bluesun Alan in Stari Grad Paklenica open-Diving Center
Pandive, whose members are 05.lipnja, on World Environment Day, along with local diving enthusiasts, participated in environmental clean up underwater. So it was in port at Selina and the length from the Alan Hotel to the waterfront in downtown Starigrad collected a considerable amount of waste, and also agreed on future cooperation in the organization of such actions to ensure the cleanliness of bed in the Velebit area. Action was held with the support of the community of Tourist Starigrad and Sewerage Corporation Argyruntum.
Presentation of Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival on Porin
Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival, an international music festival of documentary films that will be 08.-14.08.2010.g. held in Starigrad-Paklenica is presented as part of this year, 17. edition of Porin held in Biograd.

Police Bureau opened in Starigrad

XI International Meeting Held climbers Paklenica 2010.
The National Park Paklenica is a traditional Labour Day held a meeting with the climbers and mountaineers who are over 11 years and maintains a single BIG WALL SPEED CLIMBING, speed competition climbing big rocks.
This year the competition included a total of 18 male and female two-member teams from the Croatian, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Bosnia. The men’s winners were a team Slovenian Klemen and George Viennese, while the women’s first goal came on Sunčica Hrašćanec and Inga Patarčić. The last three years in parallel to maintain competition and children’s climbing the Rock Pillars - Ocun Kids Speed, and these are the default route in competition from 20-odd young athletes the fastest beat Charlotte in the earlier Jaki (1996.-1998.) and the Timon Čujić (1999 .-) in the younger age group. With the main competition was held and a series of accompanying events, such as fair and mountain climbing equipment, outdoor film festivals, lectures and entertainment programming, and an honorary guest of the event was again celebrated alpinist Dani Andrada.
The meeting was organized by public institutions with the support of Paklenica Tourist Board Starigrad municipality, the municipality Starigrad, Zadar County Tourist Office and the Croatian Mountaineering Association, while the prizes for the competitors to ensure Bluesun Alan, a Swiss manufacturer of outdoor equipment, Mammut and others.

Earth Day Celebrated
On the feast of St. George, patron Starigrad parish who is also a day school O.Š.Starigrad, April 23 in Stari Grad Paklenica-marked and Earth Day.
With the support of Municipality Tourist Board and the Public Institution Starigrad Paklenica, O.Š.Starigrad organized eco-educational project with many activities for all students, from preschoolers to Osmaši. Although the action due to bad weather held indoors instead of Alan Hotel on the waterfront, a good atmosphere among the children, teachers and parents is lacking. So they made many valuable eco-ethnic products, such as the somewhat forgotten traditional fig, with a lavender sachet, organic soap, brochures about the medicinal plants of Velebit, and souvenir photos with the characteristic motifs of the Velebit region, a replica of the deep sea inhabitants, trees with eco-messages, and found there even a prototype air filters, all accompanied by environmental messages such as “turn green”, “YES for the Earth, ” “Health is in the nature”, etc. The students of senior classes showed their knowledge in biology, geography and knowledge of cultural heritage in eco-ethno quiz, and they themselves have created, recorded and presented a short documentary film.
