Completed 2.Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival
The award of prizes of the jury and audience as well as concerts by renowned Slovenian musician Zoran Predin ended 2.Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival.
According to the decision of the jury which, together with members of Danila Šerbedžija and Edin Karamazov, chaired by Deborah Young Award Velika Paklenica for best film is awarded the film “Cure for Pain: The Story of Mark Sandman,” the American directorial duo Robert and David G. Braiver ferina. Mala Paklenica Audience Award for Best Film was awarded to Pierre Zalica film “Orchestra”. Films “Frank Fairfield” and “orchestra” shared the award for best director, while the award for best screenplay personally received the Roger Ross Williams, Oscar-winning American director for the film “Music by Prudence.” Award for Best Cinematography is awarded to the film “The White Stripes: Under the Great Northern Sky” American director Emmet Maloya.
Overall, this year’s festival presented 28 musical documentaries in three categories: short-and cjelovečernjeg music documentary, and in out of competition “Week of French Film.” The musical part of the program, with Liburnia Swing featuring Edin Karamazov, The maiden, Maverick and Bad Seasons .. With Roger R. Williams, the guest of honor this year’s festival was the British director Phil Grabsky, whose film “In Search of Mozart” screened in competition feature-length music documentary.

Feast of the Assumption and the Municipality Day Starigrad 15th August
Traditionally, the pilgrimage to the Great Rujno 15th of August with a procession and Mass in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, beginning at 11.00am and the evening festivities at the waterfront with gastro Starigrad table, fireworks and band concert magazine will mark this year’s celebration of the Feast of the Assumption and the Municipality Day Starigrad .
This year Podgorci will feast of the Assumption on 15th August pilgrimage to the Great September, the highest plateau of Velebit located at 900m above sea level. This tradition lives from the time when they lived and died on the slopes of Velebit, and survived, mostly from stock. The population would be from many mountain hamlets on the day gathered in the church of Our Lady. The church was built “With God and Stari Grad on the honor of the Assumption don Ante Adžija 1930”, the legendary Starigrrad pastor and mountaineer, he writes on the front of the church. As this day is also the day the municipality Starigrad, 16.kolovoza will hold a ceremonial session of the Municipal Council Starigrad and the new cemetery to lay wreaths in honor of fallen for the Fatherland.

Open 2.Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival
Second edition of international festival of music documentary called Starigrad Paklenica Film Festival was officially opened on Saturday, the 06.kolovoza Starigrad Bikarija waterfront.
After introductory remarks by the organizers and the jury by presenting this year are Deborah Yang, Danilo Serbedzija and Edin Karamazov festival was officially opened by Zoran Sikic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.
The first festival last night was marked by the Croatian premiere of Oscar-winning movie “Music by Prudence” written by, directed by Roger Ross Williams and personally attended the screening in Paklenica. Before then briefly met with the Minister Damir Bajs before a press conference the Ministry of Tourism in Stari Grad Paklenica-held on the occasion of publishing the results of previous year’s tourist season. Overall there will be shown during the festival of music documentaries, 27 domestic and foreign authors in three different locations where the film, after which they provided musical gatherings with concerts. Closing ceremony of the awards will be held on Friday, the concert 12.kolovoza Zoran Predin and Gypsy Swing.

BOOKSTORE SHIP - SHIP OF CULTURE appeared in Stari Grad
For the second year in a row in Stari Grad is a guest boat bookstore-ship culture, a unique cultural tourism project that takes place under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
This year’s program, along with the traditional commemorative book fair, contained plenty of amenities for children and adults. Thus, already at 18.00 began the creative arts, literary and dance workshops, and evening performances held on “The Heavenly Theatre” by Ludwig Bauer with Enes Kišević, Sara Kišević and Župarić bug in the lead roles. Music part of the rich Latin American rhythms of Cuban-Croatian band Caiman Verde and the many visitors to the waterfront with a fun dance steps of salsa, rumba and other Cuban dances.
During the tour in 2011 Boat bookstore will ship a total of 14 towns on the Adriatic promoting a culture of reading, representing the Croatian heritage and tradition and enriching time in a unique way of cultural tourist offer on Croatian Adriatic. It was a pleasure and an honor to be one of the hosts of this project.

A successful evening of Slavonia and Baranja
This weekend in the summer of cultural and tourist events in Stari Grad has been successfully held Slavonia and Baranja evening.

A record number of participants 9.Velebitskom trekking
With 345 participants gathered in Stari Grad Paklenica-weekend 9.izdanje Velebit trekking adventure racing is the most massive ever.
The competition was divided in up to 4 weight classes (Jogging 10 km, 27 km hiking, mountain 45 km Super and Ultra 100km) which enables the participation of all lovers of movement in the nature of tourists and recreationists to the most durable athlete. Velebit trekking was the main race of the season Trekking League, also the first Croatian Open Championship in trekking and is scored as qualifying races for the world’s most prestigious race Ultra Trail Mont Blanc 2012th In addition, the race has a memorial character because it is dedicated to all veterans on the battlefields of Velebit 1991.-1995.g..
With the start of the village of Stari Grad Marasović first started contestants Ultra categories who have had the hardest task - to overcome a total of 100 km Velebit challenging terrain to Karlobag 5.500m with the rise in 36-hour limit.
