Ploče is industry town with big harbor and railway terminal rail line to Sarajevo. Its located on the east coast of bay Luka Ploče. Ferry line connects town with peninsula Peljesac (Trpanj). First information about village is from 14th century but urban redevelopment began before 2nd world war, when was built modern harbor. Town was rebuilt and extended after second war and presently is one of the biggest harbor in Adriatic sea. More then 75% of traffic from harbor is to Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the harbor is international marine boarder. Private ships are not allowed in the north part of bay.
