Baška voda

Baška Voda is modern tourist centre with the harobour, located at Makarsk, under the mountain top Biokovo. The chief occupations are farming and fishing, but today it is tourism. The woods around, long pebbly beaches, clear sea and lot of hotels and restaurant helped to the development, which began after the second world war. On the peak Gradina lie reminds of village and Byzantine fort from last antic. Church of St. Nikol was built at beginning of 20th century. Hotel Slavija, first tourist resort in the town is from 20th century.
