Winnetou Convention

A convention for fans of Karl May and the Winnetou films
Guests: actors, stuntmen, extras, surprise guests;
The premiere of the documentary by Vladimir Tadej ‘At the Winnetou Locations’;
The promotion of the book ‘The Winnetou Trails through Croatia’ by Vladimir Tadej and Damir Gabelica;
An exhibition of original props, photographs and posters from the Winnetou films;
A tour of the locations at which the Winnetou films were shot (Paklenica National Park, Velebit Nature Park – Tulove Grede, the Zrmanja River canyon, Krka National Park);
Winnetou Fest – an evening of entertainment

Velebit Ultra Trail

An international 2-day non-stop race for individuals across Croatia’s mythical Mount Velebit
Three categories: ULTRA TRAIL – 81km, CHALLENGER TRAIL – 25km, TOURIST – 5km

Sport and fun

Starigrad-Paklenica – during August
A 4-day collage of open-air sports and entertainment (street basketball, break-dance, juggling, Play Station, etc.)

Concerts at St. George’s Church

During July and August. Evening concerts of sacred music, a cappella singing, etc.

Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

A traditional pilgrimage to the largest Velebit plateau (Veliko Rujno, 900m), a procession with mass at the small Church of Our Lady
An evening festival in the centre of Starigrad-Paklenica.

International Hill Race, Starigrad - Veliko Rujno, 15.08., Starigrad - Paklenica

An annual competition in hill racing for individual competitors over 10.3km
Start: Starigrad-Paklenica (8am)
Finish: Veliko Rujno (900m)

Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary

The traditional mass held at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and an evening festival on the main square in Seline.
